Episode #410: Don't Ask Me To Be Loud by Nicole Kepic
Don't Ask Me To Be LoudThe Introverted Girl’s Guide to Online Business Hello Reader. Not every business owner dreams of center stage. Some of us feel more at home behind the scenes—taking things in, thinking before jumping in. That doesn’t make us any less driven or confident in what we do. It just means we’re wired differently. In this week’s episode of the Success Through Community Podcast, we curled up with Don’t Ask Me To Be Loud: The Introverted Girl’s Guide to Online Business by Nicole Kepic. This book was such a pleasure to read. It didn’t come off as a “business book” but more like a conversation with a friend. A friend who really understands what it’s like to build a business your own way, who just gets it. This wasn’t just another business book. It was a mirror. A map. A memo from a fellow introvert saying: You’re not doing it wrong. You’re just doing it quietly and that’s more than okay. That’s powerful. One of my favourite features of this book isn’t just the message but how it is delivered. At the end of each chapter, there’s a “Your Move” section. This little section offers small, thoughtful prompts and gentle nudges to take action based on the chapter. I loved that, simple, actionable and actually helpful. One of the first? (and my personal fav) “Slide into your comfy clothes, claim the best chair in the house, and get into reading mode.” Yes, please! Personally, I thought these end of chapter “moves” inspired action. Because it’s not about hustling harder in the online world, it is about aligning your business with your energy. And, in my opinion, that’s strategy. There is a part in the book where Kepic talks about a time she was advised to “be louder”. Based on the title of the book - she had the same response I did when I read it. Volume isn’t the problem. Confidence isn’t about cranking up the volume. It’s about sounding like you, even if that voice is at a different volume than those around you. Louder or quieter, owning that is what matters. Don’t Ask Me To Be Loud isn’t just a guidebook it is permission. Permission to pause. To breathe. To reclaim the parts of ourselves we’ve tried to hide in the name of professionalism, visibility, or (let’s be honest) algorithm-pleasing. So if you’re tired of the noise, but still dreaming big… this one’s for you. Slide into your comfy clothes. Let’s grow quietly—but boldly.
