“Sell it before you build it.”

This week's Page Turner

Good morning, Joelene here!

Early in my business, I bought into the advice: “Sell it before you build it.”

It sounded efficient. Strategic. But in reality? It left me feeling disconnected from the people I actually wanted to help.

If you haven't listened to our latest episode of the podcast, we covered that topic with Million Dollar Weekend by Noah Kagan—and how it reframed what pre-selling can look like when it’s built on trust, not pressure.

Turns out, you can validate an idea without pretending it’s done. You can test the waters without building the whole boat.

You’re not selling just to make a buck—you’re checking if your idea is worth building at all.

In the episode, Kelly and I talk through how we’ve handled this in our own businesses, and why we’re cautiously optimistic about trying it again—with a much clearer lens.

Wishing you continued Success,
