The advice from Pat Flynn I didn’t expect

This week's Page Turner

Hello Reader.

A few weeks ago, I found myself in a live webinar with Pat Flynn.
Yes — that Pat Flynn.

When the Q&A opened, I took a deep breath and I couldn’t resist asking for his perspective on something that’s been on my mind: making changes in my business that I know will serve my audience better… but might also ruffle some feathers.

Pat reminded me that change isn’t something to tiptoe around—it’s something to frame as an opportunity. Yes, people can resist change, but what if, instead of fearing their reaction, I positioned it as: “This is going to be incredible for all of us. Here’s how we can make it a win.”

He encouraged me to take an iterative approach, letting my audience in on why the change is happening, being open and honest, and making sure they understand the value it brings them.

And here’s the part that really stuck with me—if a change means my work will no longer serve someone’s needs, it’s actually an act of service to let them know that upfront. That way, they can decide to step away before it happens, and I can focus on serving the people who truly align with where I’m headed. In fact, Pat even suggested being proactive and inviting those folks to unsubscribe. Counterintuitive? Sure. But it also shows you know exactly where you’re going and that you respect your audience’s time.

That conversation left me feeling lighter. Change doesn’t have to mean chaos—it can mean clarity, for me and for my audience.

And I can’t help but wonder… what’s one change you’ve been hesitant to make because you’re worried how people will react? Maybe Pat’s perspective is exactly what you need to hear too.
